Hello Sunday Morning
Story
Hi All,
Some of you may know that in January 2014 I took a month off alcohol. This was essentially part of a program called Hello Sunday Morning which challenges people to take a break from alcohol in order to change their relationship with drinking and raise awareness for the ongoing alcohol-related issues in our society. It was incredibly rewarding and I enjoyed it more than you could imagine. Further info can be found here: www.hellosundaymorning.com.au.
However, my ultimate goal – with your help - is to raise over $2,000 for charity by continuing my alcohol abstinence in February and March. I’m by no means attempting to guilt you into not drinking. I’m taking this opportunity to keep myself motivated with this challenge, while being able to help those less fortunate.
So, in my attempt to raise money for charity, I welcome any contribution you can offer – great or small! Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice, Berry Street, www.berrystreet.org.au. Berry Street is a not-for-profit, non-government and non-church based organisation that has been supporting Victorian children and families since 1877. They work with children, young people and families with the most challenging and complex needs. These children and young people have often suffered great distress and significant harm, growing up in families where violence, neglect, abuse, trauma and poverty have prevented them from their right to a safe and secure childhood.
So please, instead of dropping your beverage, drop some cash into Berry Street's pockets!
Thanks so much for your support
Matt
Activity
Berry Street Victoria
Berry Street is the largest child and family welfare organisation in Victoria. Each year we help thousands of children recover from the devastating effects of family violence, abuse and neglect.
Berry Street never gives up doing whatever it takes for the children in our care. We believe that all children should have a good childhood, growing up feeling safe, nurtured and with hope for the future. For over 130 years we have been giving these children a chance.
We need your help to continue.
